I am writing to apply for the IT Manager position at Harris Civil Engineering. As of right now I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at the University of Central Florida with hopes to forge a path of careers in IT. I am looking forward to using my leadership and customer service skills to achieve the company’s vision for the future. With my experience in customer service, leadership, as well as the ability to learn quickly and adapt effectively, I believe that I can make a strong presence for myself at Harris Civil Engineering.

 

The reason I wanted to look into an IT Management position was so that I can not only apply what I have learned at university and my current job when it comes to IT support, but also to show my customer service, sales, and leadership experience that I have obtained throughout the years as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed assisting management at my current job BestBuy and would like to build upon the foundation I gathered by having my own team to assist and develop while at the same time having someone to report to that I can assist or get assistance from.

 

My current experiences have helped me with this position in a variety of ways. In my current position as an Advanced Repair Agent, I have been able to broaden my experience in IT support both behind doors as well as an in-person help desk, face to face with the customer. This has helped me become more confident with handling hardware and software in person, for which also applies to remote if ever needed. My sales consultant position is what truly blossomed my overall customer experience, which has evolved into a comfortability with any situation at hand. As well as leadership experience within this position to understand goals, KPI’s, and overall work environment improvement. All of these are factors of becoming an IT manager which I will be able to apply.

 

As an IT manager at Harris Civil Engineers, I am eager to have the opportunity to manage a team that I can assist, train, and improve for the overall health of the company.
